Thank you to the Carroll County community for your wonderful participation in Empty Bowls 2012!
With the help of many willing hands, we raised over $23,100 for The Carroll County Soup Kitchen. Please check the 2012 Thank You tab to see the lists of sponsors, artists, chefs, musicians, and others who contributed to this successful event. And we had many behind the scenes volunteers whose names are not listed but without whom Empty Bowls would not be possible. We deeply appreciate you all. Please continue to tell your friends about Empty Bowls and post your stories and photos on our Facebook page. Spread the word because we are already thinking ahead to 2013! For more information about the international Empty Bowls concept, see www.emptybowls.net. In Carroll County, our event generally includes about 1,000 handmade bowls to choose from, many different soups from local chefs, a silent auction, buy-it-now boutique table, raffle, music, and a wonderful chance to visit with friends. We have held 8 annual events so far at the Carroll County Ag Center. Learn about hunger in Carroll County by helping at the Soup Kitchen on Beulah Church Road every Monday and Thursday and the last full week of each month. 770-214-5055, www.carrollcountysoupkitchen.org They are staffed totally by volunteers and depend on donations of nonperishable food items and monetary contributions throughout the year.
Each time you use your bowl, remember your blessings and be grateful; remember those who have less and be generous. |
